Following on from my previous idea, I have looked into the effects of drinking on women, and the rise in confidence. My research has lead me to believe that sometimes confidence on a night out can be misconstrued, and come across as aggressive in some circumstances.
Many times I have been told that my loud and somewhat boisterous behaviour, can come across as aggressive, when I think I’m just defending myself or friends. And sometimes being loud is just me!
For women to ‘fight back’ not necessarily through physical actions but vocally can allow them to be stigmatized. They can be deemed ‘less feminine’ and in turn ‘less attractive’ to potential partners. But why?
This idea will explore powerful woman across the ages, focusing on their stories and how they were perceived in relation to their class status and time period.
